Between Bloom & Breath: May's Newsletter

Time to catch up on what's been happening this past month, and see what's coming up.

Hey Reader.

May has arrived in a soft rush of green hills, brighter evenings, and that sense of the year quietly shifting gears. It always feels like a month of movement as things are waking up properly, ideas stretching out into the light, and everywhere is a beautiful verdant green. 🌷

May Day has already been and gone, but I hope you had a wonderful day.

Anyway, what else has happened since last we spoke, and what's coming up? Let me tell you... 💙

I’ve started writing Among Whispering Flames, the next book in the Between Hill and Sea series, set in 19th-century rural Wales.

This one has been tugging at me in a very persistent way, with smoke, old folklore, and the uneasy space between superstition and survival. It’s still early days, but I’m already enjoying how the story is unfolding and how the land itself seems to press in on the characters.

I'll tell you more about it next time.

💬 Come find me on Discord

I’ve also set up a Discord server, where I’ll be hanging out more regularly. It’s a space for readers, authors, writing chat, folklore rabbit holes, and general bookish chaos. I’d love to see familiar names there.

🛒 Direct books + signed copies via Payhip

I also now have a Payhip shop, where you can buy my books directly in all formats, even gift cards.

A few perks to consider:

  • Often cheaper than retail platforms
  • Signed copies available
  • Direct support for my writing

The only catch is that signed copies do need postage added, but I’ll always keep it as reasonable as possible.

1st - Calan Mai 🌸🔥

A Welsh spring festival marking new beginnings, warmth returning, and the land waking up.

8th - World Ovarian Cancer Day 🎗️💗

A day to raise awareness, support research, and stand with those affected.

10th - Mother’s Day 💐💛

A day to celebrate and appreciate mothers and mother figures.

14th - International Dylan Thomas Day ✍️🌊

Honouring the Welsh poet whose words still echo with power and lyricism.

14th - Father’s Day 👔💙

A day to recognise and celebrate fathers and father figures here in Germany and many other European countries too.

FREE BOOKS

This month I have three wonderful free read collections to share with you, running throughout May, so you’ve got plenty of time to explore them at your own pace!

Featuring Clean Romance, Small Town Romance, and Romance with Suspense, these collections bring together a lovely mix of heartfelt, comforting, and edge-of-your-seat stories. Whether you’re in the mood for gentle love stories, close-knit community charm, or a touch of danger alongside the romance, there should be something here to catch your interest and carry you away for a while.

Grab yours before they are gone!

As May settles in, I’d love to hear what this turning month is bringing your way. Are there stories you’re getting lost in, creative ideas beginning to take shape, or small everyday joys you’re gathering up as the year warms? And for the AUTHORS among you, what’s stirring on your creative horizon as everything starts to bloom a little more boldly?

You’re always warmly welcome in Morgan’s Musings, my Facebook group, where readers and writers come together for sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes updates, story conversations, and all things bookish. It’s a cosy, friendly space with plenty of room for anyone who fancies joining in. 🔥📚

You can also find me over on Discord if you’d like a more chatty, real-time space for writing talk, folklore tangents, and general bookish chaos. And if you prefer to explore my books directly, my Payhip shop is the place to go for ebooks, hard copies, and signed editions.

Wherever May finds you, I hope it brings a sense of momentum, a few unexpected sparks of inspiration, and plenty of time for the things you love. May your reading stack be abundant, your days feel bright with possibility, and the weeks ahead unfold gently and well.

Thank you, as always, for being here. It means the world. 💌

Until next month, take care and happy reading! 💙

Nest and her Fae Lord

Hey Reader. Today is Calan Mai, the first day of May, and one of those old seasonal thresholds that still seems to hum faintly beneath the modern calendar if one listens for it. In Wales, it marked the opening of the bright half of the year, the crossing out of winter’s lean grip and into the green, blossom-heavy months of warmth, growth, and abundance. It was a festival of fire and dew, of cattle driven between cleansing smoke, of yellow flowers hung above doorways for luck and protection,...

Hello April

Time to catch up on what's been happening this past month, and see what's coming up. Hey Reader. April is a month that moves. Tides shift, seasons turn, and the world leans fully into the warmth it has been promising since February. In old folk traditions, this was a time of threshold crossings and fresh starts, when anything planted, whether in soil or in the heart, had the best chance of taking root. And this April, I have some very exciting turning points of my own to share! 🌷 🐣 Easter...

Spring Equinox - The Woman Made of Flowers

Hey Reader. Today is the spring equinox, and in Welsh it carries a name that feels like the thing itself: Cyhydnos y Gwanwyn, which translates roughly as the equal night of spring, that particular turning point in the year when the hours of light and dark finally balance before the long slow tipping towards summer. There is something in that equilibrium that has always felt significant to me, a held breath before the world rushes forward. The equinox carries a second Welsh name alongside...
